Located in the heart of the historical city of Fustat in the old city of Cairo, as its geographical surroundings include monuments of different civilizations.

NMEC Museum

The museum features by an unprecedented designs in Egypt in the field of architecture and modern technology on an area of ​​33.5 acres. An Engineer Dr. Ghazali Kseiba had designed it. As, his project to design the museum won an international competition in 1984, and the exhibition spaces were designed by Japanese architect Arata Isozaki.
It consists of several floors, topped by a pyramid-shaped hall, called the “Hall of the Pyramid” or “Top Panorama Hall”, which includes 9 3D screens, installed on its walls, through which the Egyptian history and Pharaonic antiquities are presented, with sound and image, and in the middle of the hall is located on the ground. A stereoscopic maquette for the entire museum and its various halls, its entrances and exits as well, and the wall of the hall was designed with sound-muffled gypsum, in order to isolate the visitor from external influences and sounds as well, and make him enjoy his time inside it.

NMEC Facilities

The museum offers a variety of facilities to enhance your visit, including a state-of-the-art theater, a versatile meeting room, and a spacious lecture hall for presentations. Visitors can also enjoy screenings in the cinema hall, explore the historic Roman theater, and shop for unique items in the gift shop. Additionally, rotating temporary exhibits ensure there's always something new to discover.

Theater

The National Museum of Egyptian Civilization holds a 487-seat theater for private rent, providing a multi -use space to host artistic and cultural events.

Meeting Room

The museum’s meeting room serves as the venue for board meetings, accommodating up to 30 attendees. It is also available for private gatherings, offering a flexible and convenient space.

Lecture Hall

With a spacious capacity of 187, the lecture hall is a hub for various cultural events.

Cinema Hall

The cinema, accommodating up to 332 guests, showcases cultural films and is available for private screenings upon rental.

Roman Theater

The outdoor Roman theater, set against the backdrop of the Dye House, can seat up to 300 spectators and serves as the stage for cultural events. This venue is also open for private events, adding a touch of grandeur to special occasions

Gift Shop

Located on the museum’s main floor, our gift shop offers a curated selection of Egyptian souvenirs and handicrafts, allowing visitors to take a piece of Egypt’s heritage home with them.
